I love this bible, it's very classy with it's design and I like the book cover cloth feeling, and very durable hard cover and spine. The pages are very durable as well to prevent acidental small tears when flipping through which happen sometimes in my old bible.I like there is a large margin for note taking or anything else you want to put on the side. You can highlight very well without too much bleeding like most bibles. It has a very normal sized text and easy to read like any other book that I think sets it apart from other bibles that have small text. It also has a soft off white warm page colors that make it less harsh than reading from a stark white page but I also know some people perfer white. Overall it is everything I wanted for my bible and have no complaints.

I've had a few different bibles in the past but this one has my favorite design by far! I love the space provided on the sides of each page. There's plenty of room to write notes, thoughts, prayers, etc. The bible itself is also very pretty; I purchased the bible with the pink floral design and it is lovely. I'm very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it!

It has a fun a quality cover and the lines on the side allow 6ou to write about the verses without making the verses illegible when you go back and read the passage at a different time.

This is exactly what I was looking for in a journaling Bible!!!!!!!!It has a beautiful cove, lies flat ,and has nice thick lined pages for plenty of notesperfect for tees who want a more creative way of note taking!!would totally recommend

I love how nice the cover is! When journaling with pencil/colored pencil, I had to press a little hard which made it indent into other pages and when going over it with a marker it has ghosted onto the other side of the page a little bit! But I will continue to use it!

I really like this Bible. Print is easy for me to read and the cover seems to be very durable- plus it is a lovely pattern to look at and lightweight 😊

Love the cover and the journaling area.

One of the pages is a little too long and there could be more space to journal but other than that, it's perfect.

I got the book for a class, and I've found it fairly easy to read. But the quirks in the Kindle version have almost made me ready to spend the exobinant amount to get it on another platform.Besides not being able to reflow the text (which means I have to scroll up and down on my larger tablet), the possibly deal breaking quirk is that although the page itself is written in two colomns, when I highlight text it highlights across the page (yes both columns). This means that in order to highlight a section I have to break it up line by line (and any hyphenated words leave bits highlighted on the other column). Doing this slows down my reading and breaks up my train of thought. I don't have the time for this. Ah well.

He still has nightmares of that night and he can’t be the free and bold man he once was. What pains him the most was having to reject Caroline, her childhood friend and sweetheart, and not fulfill his promises of a future with her. But for her sake, it had to be done.Caroline Avery can't believe her eyes! When the Blake family comes to visit their Estate, one year after Preston’s accident, she expects Preston to be totally handicapped. In his rejection letter, he said he had unrepairable damage and he never answered her letters or her pleas to visit him. Sure, he has serious scars, but does he think her so shallow that he would reject him just for that?Can she convince him that her heart remains his? Can he overcome social rejection and trauma? And can he realize that maybe what he needs to confront other people’s stares is having the love of her life by his side?This is a beautiful retelling of The Ugly Duckling. I’ve never read a retelling of this Fairy Tale, and I loved how Megan did it! It was exquisite! I think this is her debut novel, and I’m eager to read more of her books. The story was really sweet and the characters so endearing! I was rooting the whole book for them to finally accept they are made for each other and that appearances can’t change what can only live in the heart: true love!I especially liked Caroline’s love for Little Romeo!! So cute!I definitely reccomend this novella and this author! Totally delightful!I received a complimentary copy of this book and this is my honest and unbiased review.

This Novella is based on The Ugly Duckling. It isn't the story of the ugly duckling but takes elements from that fairy tale and puts it human form. Plus, there is literally an ugly duckling. :) Just as the fairy tale does, this story has deeper meanings than just the story itself. Obviously, beauty isn't just outward appearance is one. Preston had to learn to love himself in a new way but can't seem to do it except through the love of Caroline. Love is healing. He doesn't turn into the figurative swan since his scars remain as ever but a new outlook in life is how he turns into a swan. He is no longer defined by his scars. And some who appeared to be swans showed themselves to be very ugly inside. I loved the closing lines of the story, "...appearance does not change the heart. Living does."I believe this is the author's first publication and I thought this was well written. Kudos. I enjoyed reading it. I've enjoyed all the retellings in this series.Sex: noLanguage: noViolence: yes

Preston and Caroline were childhood friends, until, eventually, feelings of friendship grew into something more. However, that something more was cut short by an incident that left Preston scarred, both physically and mentally. To him, it's obvious that he cannot ask Caroline to overlook his new ugliness, if she even could be capable of it. Most people don't seem to be. So, Preston breaks off whatever was growing between them, and withdraws into himself for a year. Finally coaxed out of hiding by his mother, Preston and Caroline meet again. Can they get back to what they had? This is a sweet, clean read, and a decent first book for the author. The editing isn't perfect, but neither is it bad (and, in all fairness, I read an ARC). I liked how Preston and Caroline grew to understand one another, and their differing viewpoints more. I received an ARC. I was not required to write a review, but chose to do so and the opinions stated are my own.

I really enjoyed this story which is based on the fairy tale “ The Ugly Duckling”. The author effectively created a story that was engaging and relatable. The story concerns a hero who is severely injured while performing a heroic act. The resulting disfigurement as well the mental trauma that accompanied the injury turns the hero into a recluse. This is unfortunate for the heroine who is deeply in love with him. Her dilemma is how she will convince him that he is more than what is seen on the outside. As the story progresses, the reader wonders whether the hero will discover this truth before it is too late. This subject is one that is transferable across time. How the author handles it is entertaining and moving.I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.and publisher. However, the thoughts and opinions offered are my own.

Ramesh Gulati is currently Asset Management and Reliability Planning Manager with the Aerospace Testing Alliance at Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC), Arnold AFB, TN. He is responsible for creating a reliability culture across AEDC and for building and designing reliability into new systems. Previously, he held various maintenance, engineering, and management positions at AEDC, Carrier Air Conditioning Corp., True Temper Corp., Bethlehem Steel, and Heavy Engineering Corporation’s Foundry Forge Plant.Ramesh is a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), and a registered Professional Engineer (PE). He holds BSME, MSIE, and MBA degrees, is very active in professional societies and has authored many professional papers. Currently, for SMRP, he serves as Certification Committee chair and was director of Certification and Standards, Best Practices, Body of Knowledge, and a Board member. He also serves as an advisory Board member for the University of Tennessee’s Reliability & Maintenance Center (RMC). The first thing I noticed was his intensity. He was intensely interested in contributing what he knew to the best practices being collected by the organization. He was intensely working to connect people who might be able to help each other. He was interested in making sure those around him were not simply passively supportive of a reliability-based maintenance strategy. They had to be fully committed to a reliability-based way of life! I eventually made it to the Air Force base where Ramesh worked, and I noticed something completely different about the way maintenance was regarded. I could not detect the usual sense of maintenance as a "necessary evil" or a "cost center," even from the base's leadership. Instead, maintenance was viewed as an important enabler of the mission. Reliability was the context and aim of the maintenance program. Since that day almost ten years ago, I have been privileged to work with Ramesh, who taught me that one can only gain through contributing. I've also learned from his entire team, including a series of leaders over the last decade that represent the best of what America is all about. There is a common thread I have found from all the best practice programs like the one where Ramesh works. That is the thread of sharing. You would expect best practice organizations to be learning organizations, like knowledge sponges absorbing every bit of beneficial information they can find. Instead, it is almost the exact opposite. These organizations share and teach everything they know and everything they have learned; somehow this contributes to their getting better and improving even more. Before this book appeared, only those who worked and volunteered with Ramesh or those who heard him at an industry conference, had been touched by his work. With this book, and now this new edition, the wider world will have a chance to benefit from his experience and knowledge. If you are a maintenance professional, dive in and savor this book. Try not to make too many dog-eared pages because I suggest that you lend it to your boss as soon as you are done with it or, better yet, buy him or her a copy. I am a much better person as a result of having him as a friend. Terence O'Hanlon Excerpt from Maintenance and Reliability Best Practices Chapter 1.3 What Do Best Practices Have to Do with Maintenance and Reliability? In any organization, assets are needed to produce products or provide services. An item or asset, as defined here, could be an electronic or mechanical hardware component or device, a software product, or a manufacturing system or process. The objective of performing better maintenance and improving reliability of assets in an organization is to ensure that the assets are available to perform required functions, when needed, in a cost-effective manner. The performance of an asset is based on three factors (see Figure 1.1):  Inherent reliability — how it was designed? Operating environment — how it will be operated? Maintenance plan — how it will be maintained? Usually assets are designed with a certain level of reliability. This designed-in (or built-in) reliability is the result of individual components’ reliability and the way they are configured. This level of reliability is called inherent reliability. We cannot change or improve the reliability of an asset after it has been installed without replacing or modifying it with better and improved components (with the exception of redesigning it). The second factor, the operating environment of the asset, considers operating conditions under which the asset has to operate along with the operator’s skills. Several studies have indicated that 40% or more failures are the result of operational errors. Organizations need to ensure that operators are appropriately educated and trained in operating these assets without causing operational errors that lead to failures. In fact, operators should be the first line of defense in monitoring the asset’s performance and any abnormal conditions, and in initiating timely corrective actions. The third factor is a maintenance plan that defines how the asset will be maintained. The objective of a good maintenance plan is to sustain asset reliability and to improve its availability. The plan should include the necessary maintenance and service-type actions needed to detect potential failures before they lead to unscheduled downtime. So what do best practices have to do with these principles of maintenance and reliability? Throughout the many years of the maintenance and reliability industry, good and bad practices have been identified. These good and bad practices have been briefed at international conferences, discussed in person and over the airwaves, and written in magazines, books, websites, and blogs. The best of these practices are now becoming more accepted and published throughout local, national, and international industries, becoming the benchmarks that companies seek to achieve. Throughout this book, we will be discussing these factors and what best practices can be used to improve asset performance.

The book is well written but lacks detail in some areas. Introduces concepts but doesn't give enough details about them, you have to go online or research elsewhere. Also has an example test in the first chapter but the answer to some of the questions are no where to be found in the book, you have to search elsewhere again.I didn't find much use in the accompanying workbook they also offer for this book; it just re-writes paragraphs already in the book and has a space to the right of each where you could write notes, I don't see the need for it. Just get a notebook and write the page number then write notes in the notebook for each topic.

I'm the Senior Advisor of service and asset management implementations for IFS North America. I've often thought about writing a maintenance primer to help with my implementations that isn't as engineer oriented as the RCM books. But upon reading Mr. Gulati's book I don't need to anymore. It's a perfect guide for setting up a maintenance program and I have and will continue to recommend it to my customers and colleagues.

Recommended as a great basis for reliability engineering and I agree that it is. Covers a wide range of topics from measurement and analysis techniques, to management strategies. Great read and reference.

As a practitioner and consultant in all the areas covered by this book, I am always interested in reviewing and using good references. This book covers all the important areas of the field without resorting to opinion rather than information. This is a good addition to any EAM professionals library.

I have been in the business for over 40 years and still picked up a lot of great information from this book. Wish I would have been able to get it years ago. Easy to read. while it has a lot of facts and data it is still written in a format that does not put you to sleep.

I've read a number of books on Maintenance Management and all have their strengths and weaknesses. This book is by far the best on the topic. The authors did a good job of making the subject matter light and interesting. The content is delivered in an easily understandable manner, but still very practical. Many books fall into the too-managerial trap and start just number-crunching. This book is useful for all who are wanting a broad knowledge of the topic. If your looking for a book that covers the wide perspective on Maintenance Management, in just the right depth (without too many sluggish graphs and numbers) you've found it.

Very easy to read for almost anyone, and this book is a great read for those in or going into this field.

About the Author

Gary Glazner is the founder and Executive Director of the Alzheimer's Poetry Project (APP). NBC's Today show and NPR's Weekend Edition, Voice of America, and New Zealand National Radio have all featured segments on the APP. These broadcasts and news stories have reached over 20 million people and have helped keep the issue of quality, innovative care for people living with Alzheimer's disease in the public's mind. Harper Collins, W.W. Norton and Salon.com have published his work. Glazner was the Managing Director of Bowery Arts and Science, the non-profit wing of the Bowery Poetry Club in New York City, 2007 to 2010.His poetry performances have been featured on CNN, NPR and underwater on the Bay Area Rapid Transit System. Glazner was the poet-in-residence and coach of the Percission Poetry Drill Team at Desert Academy in Santa Fe, 2005-06. He edited the "Word Art: Poetry Broadside Series," at the Palace of the Governors Museum, where he learned to set type and crank the old printing presses. He is the author of Ears on Fire: Snapshot Essays in a World of Poets published on La Alameda Press. The book chronicles a year abroad in Asia and Europe meeting poets, working on translations and writing poems. Glazner is the author of How to Make a Living as a Poet on Soft Skull Press.Glazner along with co-producer Don McIver were the winners of the 2004 Special Merit Award from the National Federation of Community Broadcasters, for The Poetry of Vietnam, which was broadcast on KUNM in Albuquerque.
